The sun in your CEO.
The Moon is your Customer Relations.
Believe it or not, the planetary archetypes store an immense amount of information about your business and brand!
If you are a business owner or entrepreneur, your business is your brainchild, and carries forth your “Astro DNA.” Therefore, whenever you are brainstorming about business and branding, you can set yourself up for success by using your astrological chart to help define and clarify the essence of yourself and your work.
I recommend focusing your exploration on three primary areas: your Sun, Moon, and Rising Sign.
Here’s an example using my own Astrological chart.
First, my Sun is in Gemini – I love to communicate, be a bridge between people, ideas, and resources.
Second, I have a Moon in Pisces – I’m empathic, dreamy and imaginative. I need to do something creative.
Third, my Rising Sign (or Ascendant) is in Taurus – Bringing something from the world of ideas into the physical world is vital. Art and beauty are also relevant.
Now, let’s break it down. What do your Sun, Moon and Rising Sign represent?
The Sun – the CEO – this is the life and driving force of your business. The placement of your Sun in your chart is where you “shine” most brightly.
The Moon – this represents your customers and your employees (remember that employees reflect the light of the leader/Sun). Traditionally, the Moon also speaks of containment (i.e., containers of the body – breasts, stomach, womb) and nurturing. What feeds your business? What are you nourishing with your business?
Ascendant – this determines your “outer packaging,” and how you start and approach your business.
Next, I will share an overview of each of the signs. This can aid your spark your imagination and begin to help you . The symbolism in astrology is very multi-layered and rich, and this only scratches the surface of the immense amount of information that is stored in your unique sky configuration.
If you know your Moon sign and Ascendant, you can use these to help you create a “Business Pyramid” that incorporates your Sun, Moon, and Ascendant.
Fire Signs: the fundamental concept is confidence and initiative.
Aries – The Trailblazer. The Pioneer. For an Aries, there’s nothing like the thrill of starting something. They need a vision, and a cause to motivate them.
Leo – The Creative. Ability to vitalize any enterprise with a generous spirit.
Sagittarius – The Quest. A desire to promote their ideas to the broader world. Freedom and meaning are essential elements. An optimistic outlook is vital to keep the Sagittarius quest and sense of adventure alive.
Earth Signs: the fundamental concept is the innate understanding of how the material world functions.
Taurus – The Producer. Rooted vitality. Creative expression needs to find form in the physical world. Reluctance to change may hinder progress, but Taurus energy flows when they can make something concrete in the world. This is especially powerful if they have a sense of beauty, quality, and comfort.
Virgo – Discerning. Analyst. Need to be of service in some way. Value is placed on service and self-improvement.
Capricorn – The Achiever. Discipline. Here the energy is focused on reaching a goal. Value of hard-work, authority, and pragmatism. Capricorns help others understand personal authority.
Water Signs: the fundamental concepts are empathy, deep emotion and feeling response.
Cancer – The Nurturer. Ability to create a container for others. Understanding of how feeding/nurturing oneself is vital. This can be through food, love, and empathy. Building a safe “home” is part of the Cancer essence.
Scorpio – The Catalyst. Power to transform. Here the creative energy goes deep beyond the surface, transforming the status quo. Whatever a Scorpio does (or feels compelled to do) is infused with a deep, intense desire to transform something completely.
Pisces – The Imagination Manifester. Pisces is the chameleon of the zodiac. Ability to “be” or “become” what the world projects onto them. Sensitive, creative energy may not be explicitly focused, but a Pisces can read the yearning that permeates the zeitgeist. Dreaming the world into being.
Air Signs: the fundamental concepts are that ideas are the prana (breath) of life, and the mind’s perception of the world shapes reality.
Gemini – The Trickster. The Mental Acrobat. A Gemini has the need to disseminate ideas, exchange information, and connect the dots, people, and products.
Libra – Relationship Connoisseur. Need for balance will lead a Libra to quest for it and experience many instances of imbalance. Ability to sense what is off kilter and unfair in any environment/relationship/product. Beauty is not just a pretty face; it’s essential in life.
Aquarius – The Idea Logistics Master. Independence, innovation, and freedom are food for the Aquarius soul. Nurturing comes from encouraging one to step out of their comfort zone.
Sun, Moon, and Rising Signs are a great place to start your exploration. For even more guidance, I invite you to look at your entire astrological chart, which shows how your planets are grouped, and what the relationship is between them. This information will clarify even more how to build your uniquely compelling “YOU Business Incorporated.”
Here’s a brief overview about how to think of your planets: Mercury is your Communications Chief. Mars gets things done. Venus manages your money but also decorates the office. Uranus is your IT guy. Saturn is your CFO. Neptune is your creative team. Pluto is your power generator. And Jupiter is your Business Development coordinator.
I hope this inspires you to do some further research into your Planetary Entrepreneurs! I’d love to hear your thoughts and comments about your chart, your business, and how these fit together. What information can you glean from your sky? How can you build a business that’s more in alignment with your “Astro DNA?” Nothing makes this fellow Gemini happier than spreading information and getting conversations going.
