Being a kick-butt entrepreneur offers many rewards — but also a lot of stress, uncertainty, and long hours alone! If you’re going to make your business sustainable (and stay sane along the way!) you definitely need to find your tribe.
That’s where Moxie’s BusinessBoost Round Tables come in. Each event serves as a “sacred business circle” where amazing women who are innovating and doing the hard work come together to reflect on their recent triumphs and challenges. They’re welcome to vent, or ask for advice or support — and, just as important, they can offer it!
BusinessBoost is about empathy, recognition, honesty — and authenticity. But don’t just take our word for it! We asked some of our fabulous Women with Moxie members to give you some insider perspective on the popular event!
Here’s what they told us…
It’s a community to get you un-stuck.
“To give you an idea of who I am: I am the woman in the Moxie video working from home, wearing bunny slippers, who desperately desires the camaraderie of a network of women entrepreneurs but also fears acceptance. I share this because I don’t convey that in person. And while I’m an extrovert, I’m not a quick ‘joiner’ to any group or activity.
Last Wednesday was the second BusinessBoost I’ve attended. Both times I signed up to attend on impulse; the last thing I wanted to do was add another something to my calendar. Both times I was feeling quite low, in my self-esteem and confidence in my ability to bring my vision to life. The week prior to signing up saw me canceling appointments and insulating myself, and the BusinessBoost emails reminded me that I needed to do the exact opposite. I needed community and communication to help me move through what I was stuck in at that moment in time.
When I arrived on Wednesday I was certain I was the downer in the room. I found my place and after Dill’s welcome the first woman to speak at our table began sharing. She was in such a different place than I that I felt myself collapsing, worrying about ‘my turn.’ But then she talked about her personal feelings and the lows that were leading to her highs and I could see myself in her journey — not in her reality, but in how she was moving through her life as a mother, partner, and business owner. She seemed like she had her act together, and if I saw myself in her, then maybe I wasn’t as bad-off as I thought. Two speakers later and the tone changed significantly, mirroring my own deep feeling. Again I could see myself in her journey and had words of wisdom for her that I would never have conjured for myself — even though her words were verbatim my inner dialogue. Again, hearing that my issue was someone else’s lessened the gravity I’d placed on it.
What makes the BusinessBoost so extraordinary is that we see beyond the tactical issues that are often brought up and recognize the personal or interpersonal roots underlying the issue. As a group, delivering a ‘solution’ to whatever question has been asked or whatever situation was conveyed isn’t our goal. The goal is to hear the speaker, validate her, see ourselves in her either from our own past experiences or knowing that what she is talking about could be our next fire. When you see another woman nodding her head in agreement — that she’s been there/done that — you don’t feel so isolated. And you know who to reach out to.
I find that on leaving the BusinessBoost I feel no heavier or lighter than when I arrived, which is a major feat — often we share more challenges than wins, and as women we strive to help one another and do so by taking on the problem ourselves. So it’s a surprise to not feel that way. I leave feeling like I invested 90 minutes of time in myself and as a result, my business will improve.”

You benefit from direct and second-hand advice.
“#1 Dill had amazing insight for each woman during the call, which carried over to everyone else, so I not only had takeaways from my questions — I benefitted from the others.
#2 I was so nervous, not knowing how the process would work or what would take place. The call was structured and yet casual. Dill created a safe space and I felt very supported from the beginning to the end.
#3 The breakout small groups created a connection with the other women and it was nice that everyone had time to speak. I left the call feeling I had five new friends and connections of support.
#4 I am excited I now have a place to bring my questions and get feedback on what I’m doing in business…..not going solo!”
– Pam Karlen, Life and Business Mentor
It fills the mentorship gap.
“The Business Boost is very important to me. I had access to mentors when I first started my consulting practice; I do not have mentors now. So the BusinessBoost and Business Round Table fills the need of support and compassion.
Dill has created a very safe environment where you can be you – exactly where you are at the moment.
Experiencing the generosity of the community; being part a group of people who are willing to share insight, ideas and kindness fosters openness and learning — I have been been on both sides of the generosity. I introduced a member to someone she needed to meet and I received valuable advice to help me with something I was struggling with.
It is time well spent each month.”

You have a standing date for supportive feedback.
“It’s a pleasure to participate in this format and receive support and guidance from a loving, safe, and sacred community inspired by founder Dill Ward. You never know who will show up or who you will serve. Just knowing that I have this special time each month is a gift for me and when I need sound business advice I know where to turn. I am so glad I joined Women With Moxie. I have gotten back more than I thought I would. It is worth the investment.”
– Gail Serna, Psychic Medium and Spiritual Counselor
It meets you where you’re at.
“I love the BusinessBoost because it is a group of business women in varying stages of business that are all open and supportive to all that attend. It is a great place to be vulnerable and talk about your issues with your business, knowing that all the members will hold space for you and provide a listening ear for you to talk out your problems, and provide feedback if you want it. It is a great atmosphere and I love all the people I meet there!”
– Cecilia Case, Bountiful Money LLC
Need a recharge? Perfect!
“It’s a great place to step outside of your business and get fresh perspectives to take things to the next level. You’ll get a boost of inspiration when you need it and a kick to move forward if you ask!””
– Christa King, CEO, Fitlandia
You can definitely come here to make friends.
“With every BusinessBoost I attend I gain more insight into my own business and personal development. If I need feedback, I get what I am looking for and more. I also always walk away with a new connection and strengthen bonds with others I already knew. I just love the BusinessBoosts and they are free with a Moxie membership!”
– Brenda Bokenyi, Consultant, Arbonne
You have a chance to give as good as you get!
“The BusinessBoost was such a warm, welcoming environment of lovely, smart women. I received some super helpful feedback for my own business and was able to chime in on feedback for others from my own experience. Everyone brought something unique to the table. I also felt like I just got to meet and hang out with really cool kick-ass women, which was icing on the cake!”
